Ali Naïmi – UWC Maastricht
How did you find out about UWC and why did you apply?
A representative came to my school and I applied because of the opportunities and the unique system it has which cannot be anywhere else.
What are you first impressions of UWC?
UWC Maastricht? It's going to be a challenge worth experiencing.
I can also say that because of these challenging factors UWC has made us interesting, but perhaps more interestingly, interested. Interested in fields of academia, service and cultural diversity.
What do you enjoy most about life at UWC?
The communication with students in the boarding house. The random talks about anything with anyone in anywhere
What has been the most challenging aspect?
Setting the standards and building the environment together.
What subjects are you taking?
Math SL, Physics SL, English SL, Dutch HL, Chem HL, Bio HL
What CAS activities are you involved in?
Volleyball, Stichting Gehandicaptenzorg Limburg, Documentary club
What advice would you give to students thinking about applying?
It’s worth the experience, especially Maastricht which is not living in a bubble but in the real world with real life experiences. This means learning to cope with good happenings as well as less good happenings
What are your ambitions after you leave UWC?
My vision has expanded and that is amazing. After I leave, I would want to study a science major and come back as an IB teacher or in the other case a college teacher.
